Operations Leader & People Analytics Specialist

Hi, I’m Michael. I recently traded Ohio for Richmond, VA. I’m an operations leader with a background in applied psychology, currently focused on how data and human behavior intersect to make businesses run better.

OPTIMIZING SYSTEMS THROUGH PEOPLE AND DATA

  • As an Operations Manager at Essix Resources, I’ve spent the last 10+ years refining the intersection of process efficiency and human performance. My approach is rooted in the belief that operational excellence isn't just about reducing overhead—it’s about understanding the variables that drive employee engagement and output.

  • During my tenure at Essix, I spearheaded a strategic initiative that reduced expenses and overhead costs by 6.7% in a single year. I achieved this not through broad cuts, but by applying rigorous statistical methods to forecast sales and consumption while simultaneously measuring employee satisfaction. By identifying the correlations between staff engagement and operational success, I’ve been able to develop comprehensive project plans that diversify our client base and stabilize long-term growth.

  • With an M.S. in Applied Psychology (4.0 GPA) from USC, I bring a unique 'People Analytics' lens to operations. I don’t just see a supply chain or a budget; I see a complex system of human behavior that can be measured, analyzed, and optimized using tools like SPSS, Tableau, and Salesforce.

  • Data & Analytics: SPSS, Tableau, Qualtrics, Advanced Excel

  • Business Ops: Sales Forecasting, P&L Management

  • People Strategy: Organizational Development, Cultural Assessment, 360-Degree Feedback

Current Status & Moving Forward

  • I am currently looking for my next role within Operations Management, People Analytics, or Organizational Development. I am particularly interested in teams that value a deep understanding of human behavior and maximizing employee retention.
